Newlands Farm Stud offers you 75 acres and New Forest grass keep and grazing for horses and ponies. Beautifully situated within the New Forest National Park, but less than 3 miles from the ancient market town of Ringwood, the farm directly adjoins the New Forest, so no roadwork at all required. Newlands is a professionally-managed farm providing suberb grazing and riding out opportunies.

Whilst most of the grass kept horses at Newlands Farm are ridden, we also offer excellent grazing for youngstock, or retired and resting horses as well. Newlands has an advantage being located alongside New Forest Livery, which offers a 1st class stabling and various other livery services - please see their website for details.

PASTURE MANAGEMENT

We felt that as the farm is within the New Forest National Park, we wanted to adopt a policy of continual maintainence including restoration and renewal of hedgerows, to the highest standards and so we use the services of a specialist contractor to undertake this. Working under the New Forest National Park Land Management Guidelines. We have a long term strategy of commitment to the improvement of our grassland using natural fertilisers, and establishing a good weed control program and rotational grazing system. Newlands has an annual Pasture Management Plan.

Helen Cousins -

Helen has been a key member of staff since the beginning of the business in 1992. We daily check each field as to the condition of our fences. Electric fencing needs constant repair as the deer can damage them overnight. Whilst doing this we can also see that all the water supplies are working well or in the winter break the ice if needed.
